Located close to one of the UK’s most inspiring and creative cities, the Sussex student experience is second to none.

The University of Sussex campus has everything students need to live and socialise, from coffee shops and restaurants which are perfect for meeting up with friends or having a tasty meal, to the Students’ Union which organises fun events and activities such as quizzes and live music. There are also 200 societies and 30 sports clubs for students to get involved with.

The nearby city of Brighton is full of energy and it's easy to get around on foot. Students can explore independent cafes, restaurants and shops in the Lanes or visit the beach to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Top places to visit include the Victorian pier with colourful fairground rides and the Royal Pavilion which was built to look like an exotic Indian palace. Creative art, music, film and food festivals also take place in Brighton throughout the year.

Students at the University of Sussex International Study Centre (ISC) can choose to either live in allocated student residential accommodation or private accommodation. 

Sussex provides accommodation for around 5,000 residents, most of which is located on campus, close to the ISC and lecture theatres.


On campus you’ll find a diverse range of accommodation to suit your needs, including single study bedrooms, shared houses and flats.


University-managed, off-campus accommodation is also available in residential areas of Brighton & Hove, including student share houses and seafront standard rooms.
