The objective of the bachelor’s degree in International Business is to provide both Finnish and international students with a high quality business education and international business experience. The program aims at providing the students with the vital skills needed to work in expert positions in small and medium-sized companies involved in international business.

The program is designed to encourage the development of entrepreneurial skills within the fields of International Business.

The degree program covers the following six main competencies:

International Business Awareness
Intercultural Adaptability
International Operations Management
International Marketing Management
International Strategic Management
Organizational Development

An essential part of the degree program is also a 5-month practical training periodwhich gives you the opportunity to apply acquired theory in practice. The practical training can be accomplished in Finland or abroad. Towards the end of your studies, you will also complete a thesis in the form of a project work, research work or applied research. The purpose of the thesis is to demonstrate your ability to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during your studies. With personal study planning, it is also possible to complete the degree in a shorter time than the official 3.5 years.

Graduates of the International Business will be able to choose from a variety of employment positions from being self-employed to working in management, planning and development positions within projects, sales and marketing in both private and public sector. It is also possible to continue studies towards a master’s degree at a university.

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) is a gaming and tourism-oriented university established in 1992 in Kajaani.
