Admission Requirements

ICM offers foundation as well as pathways to an undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba. The UTP Stage II programs are the equivalent to the first year of the University's Bachelor's Degree. Upon successful completion of UTPII, students transfer into the second year of their degree at the University of Manitoba.*

* To progress to the second year at the University of Manitoba you must successfully complete 30 credit hours of advanced standing, meet the required GPA and satisfy the relevant entry requirements.

ICM provides international students a pathway to year two at the University of Manitoba. The ICM pathway provides a smooth transition into the U of M. University designed programs, taught by qualified instructors on the main U of M Campus, ensure that ICM students have the very best preparation for the demands of higher education in Canada. ICM students are treated like university students and, with the added benefits of smaller classes, students receive more personalized attention in a dynamic and supportive environment that better equips them for life at the U of M.

**When you come to ICM with a student visa, you are not allowed to work before you progress to the main program at the University of Manitoba.

**Academic Requirement for English Medium students stay the same regardless of the country of residence.

UTP Stage II: Business is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate business degree from University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business. Internationally-accredited and over 80 years old, the Asper School of Business provides graduates with the practical experience, leadership skills and networking opportunities needed to succeed, innovate, and contribute to society.

To enter into the second year at University of Manitoba, you must complete university admission requirements by April of any given year to be considered for admission in September of that year. If you miss the April deadline, you may enrol in more courses at ICM or transfer to the University of Manitoba in order to earn additional credit hours in preparation for the next April deadline. Depending on the courses completed, you will be eligible to transfer up to 60 credit hours to selected degree programs. Details will be provided on an individual basis each term, and you will be advised on selecting courses to maximize your credit transfer entitlements. Admission to second year Asper School departmental programs is competitive and the minimum GPA for entry will vary by year.

 

To be eligible to progress to the second year in University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business, you must complete 24 credit hours, including all required courses (with a minimum C in each) by the end of April, of the year that they are applying to the Asper School of Business to be eligible for admissions under Track 1. BANGLADESH

Higher Secondary Certificate with minimum overall of 65% or GPA 3.75. You must have minimum 50% marks in 4 academic subjects in HSC. You must have minimum 50% in Mathmetics in SSC. You can apply to this program even if you completed your HSC in Science or Arts group.

INDIA

India Senior Secondary School Certificate with a minimum overall average of 65% in 4 academic senior level subjects with no score below 50% + minimum 50% in Year 10 Math

NEPAL

Higher Secondary School Certificate with an average of 65% . And minimum 50% marks in 4 Academic subjects.

PAKISTAN

Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) with 55% average in 4 academic subjects

UK IGCSE OR A-LEVELS

IGCSE A level results with D passes in 2 academic subjects or IGCSE AS level results with D passes in 4 academic subjects. No native Language will be considered. Also the student must have Maths either in A-Level or AS-level or in O-levels and have minimum grade D. If Math was not taken in any of these level, the student may still get admission to this program but he/she must take Math subject at UTP Stage-I level at ICM. (Extra tuition will be applicable in this scenario)
