The Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Supply Chain Management is designed to provide students with an understanding of the systems and decision-making required for a successful career in the supply chain management field.

Students will gain specialized knowledge in the components of the supply chain from purchasing through sales and distribution in a context of using information technology to achieve strategic and organizational objectives. Topics include how to improve speed to market; enabling online purchasing/supply chain functions, production, distribution and logistics systems; inventory management; enterprise system evaluation and supplier selection; financial considerations; outsourcing and partnership options; competitive bidding and negotiation; contracts; client service and satisfaction issues. Student will learn about the design of logistics networks and the management of transportation infrastructures.

The specialization culminates in a Capstone course, in which students will work in teams to develop an executable supply chain strategy and implementation plan for a company who is seeking to enter a new foreign market.

Courses throughout this specialization are offered fully online, and are also available through a flexible on-campus delivery option in Vancouver, British Columbia. Students are not required to choose one mode of delivery over the other, but may work with a Program Advisor to design a plan of study to fit a preferred learning style.

Offering both online and on-campus delivery is intended to enhance the learning experience, and to expand educational access for all current and potential students, particularly those who want or need to work fulltime or part-time while they study.

Online

Yorkville University’s Bachelor of Business Administration takes a flexible approach to online education, using curriculum designed to optimize the learning experience.

In every course, faculty actively engage in discussions and provide individualized feedback, guidance, and support. Students follow a customized plan of study but, within each course, move through the material together participating in discussions, working on group assignments and team presentations, and completing independent assignments. All Yorkville University online BBA programs are offered without a required residency component.

On-campus

Yorkville University offers on-campus programs in Toronto, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia. Canadian students studying on-campus can enroll in some or all their courses online. This added flexibility allows students to select a delivery mode according to their preferences and what best suits their learning needs, at any given time.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program at Yorkville University is structured in a three-term year.  A standard course load, is four courses per term for three terms per year with the summer break commencing in July. Yorkville University admits students four times a year – in January, April, July and October.  Students starting in October would qualify for their three-month summer break in July of the following year. All students qualify for an approved break after completion of 30 credits regardless of their intake date. The approved break runs from July to September. Students who are interested in accelerating their studies and taking courses during the summer break are welcome to do so depending on course availability.

Many management level positions require a bachelor’s degree. Successful completion of your BBA with a specialization in Supply Chain Management provides you with the credentials and increases your qualification for the following positions:

Yorkville University was established in 2003 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The University is a private, non-denominational institution and offers professionally-oriented academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level. In March 2004, Yorkville University was designated under the New Brunswick Degree Granting Act to offer the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP). The MACP reaches students in all Canadian provinces and in the United States, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. The degree is recognized by the New Brunswick Department of Education as an approved program for upgrading a teacher's certificate. In 2007, the University acquired the Ontario-based RCC Institute of Technology (RCCIT). RCCIT is authorized under the Ontario Post-secondary Choice and Excellence Act, 2000 to offer three undergraduate degrees: the Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering; the Bachelor of Business Information Systems; and the Bachelor of Interior Design. These programs are offered in the metropolitan Toronto area and the Bachelor of Interior Design, and Bachelor of Business Information Systems courses are available online. In October 2011, the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick signed an order-in-council designating Yorkville University to offer the Master of Education (Adult Education) program. Classes began online in January 2012. In March 2012, Yorkville University was designated to offer the Bachelor of Business Administration program; classes began in October 2012. In December 2014, Yorkville University was designated to offer an additional Master of Education with a specialization in Leadership; classes began in May of 2015. The University has also received permission from the New Brunswick Minister of PostSecondary Education, Training, and Labour to develop a professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. In 2012, the Board of Governors approved a strategic initiative to achieve degree and university consent in British Columbia. In August 2015, British Columbia’s Minister of Advanced Education provided final consent for Yorkville University to use the term ‘university’ in B.C. and to offer a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with specializations in Energy Management, Project Management, Accounting and Supply Chain Management; in 2018 this consent was extended to include a General BBA. In 2017, the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development granted consent for Yorkville University to deliver online and on-campus in Ontario a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management. That same year, RCC Institute of Technology was amalgamated into the University and the RCC degree programs were transferred to Yorkville University.
