In almost any industry, running a business with a triple bottom line; a focus on people, the planet and profit, has inherent financial benefits (Forbes, 2017). There is a growing demand for businesses to demonstrate corporate social responsibility. Business management strategies that impact profit and society are achieving successful and sustainable results.

The world needs business graduates who have leadership skills and understand that they have the power to bring about positive change. Join Glasgow Caledonian University and become part of a global network of individuals committed to responsible management and ethical leadership. You will study as part of a diverse student cohort who bring with them a wide range of experiences. As you learn together, you begin to expand your understanding of how teams can perform at their best.

Your business management degree carries the prestigious international EPAS accreditation. You will join a select number of graduates whose programmes have this quality benchmark. Our business school graduates are highly regarded. Working around the world, they form a community of proficient, entrepreneurial, confident, responsible and capable leaders, owners and management consultants.

You will master key business functions such as strategy, leadership, managing people and operations, entrepreneurship, innovation and technology management. The teaching you receive is informed by the latest research methods. You can include a language in your degree and select the modules and placements that match your individual aspirations. The communication, teamwork, problem-solving and leadership skills are what set our graduates apart from others in their chosen field.

Business management at Glasgow Caledonian University is flexible. You will learn on a theoretical and practical level, in the way that suits you best. You will become proficient in financial management, marketing, operations and resource management, from both UK and international perspectives.

During your degree, you will strengthen your portfolio of intellectual and personal skills. The learning and teaching methods we use, ensure that our programme is both vocationally relevant and academically challenging. Our approach is student-centred, practical, participative and relevant to the needs of employers. We have moved away from traditional teacher-centred learning. Our approach is geared toward independent learning and critical thinking.

Each module on the programme uses its own learning, teaching and assessment strategy to achieve learning objectives. Assessment methods vary between modules and may include unseen examinations, class tests, essays, management reports, case studies, presentations, and group work. A variety of learning technologies are utilised to support the assessment and feedback process.

Learning is much more than attending lectures, seminar and workshops. You have the support of a wide range of resources during your degree. These include podcasts, webinars (internet-based seminars), discussion boards and independent (including online) study.

The University's approach to learning provides you with knowledge transfer and exchange. That is, you will learn from the interactions you have with peers, academics, and business leaders. We expect students to adopt an active stance to their own learning, and that of others.
